After one of the worst hurricanes in history slammed into the Virgin Islands, the hospital on St. Thomas was left with a contaminated water cistern. With its water supply unusable, the Hospital had to transport in desalinated water at a great expense. Industrial Hydro-Blast was contracted to clean the cistern, sand blast the surface, apply a protective coating to the interior surfaces, refill the cistern and chlorinate the water supply. All materials and equipment were loaded into containers and shipped to St Thomas. The cistern was repaired to specifications and placed back into service reducing the cost of desalinating water.
